Description
Bees dance to communicate the location of nectar. The figure eight
pattern illustrates the heading through the direction of the centre
line, and the flight distance through the time to complete the cycle. To
know which way is which, bees use the sun as reference, and when
dancing where no sun is present, the force of gravity is used to
symbolize the sun.
